FAUCHON L’ Hotel Kyoto invites you to savour a refined and refreshing late‑summer afternoon with our elegant Afternoon Tea, available throughout August and September.
This season’s star ingredient is the melon—its vivid green hue, succulent texture and naturally sweet juiciness capturing the essence of summer.
Our savouries include a delicately salted melon soup accented with mint, as well as the timeless pairing of melon and prosciutto, offering a light and refreshing experience even in the warmest months. A vibrant pipérade quiche, generously filled with slow‑cooked peppers, adds both colour and depth.
Among the pâtissier’s recommended sweets is a charmingly nostalgic melon soda, reminiscent of the Showa era. Kyoto’s pure “Millennium Water” drawn from the hotel’s own well—is added as sparkling soda at the table. Guests may also opt to elevate the experience by substituting FAUCHON Champagne. This season’s scone appears in an irresistibly playful form, inspired by the beloved Japanese melon‑pan.
