【6 October】Herb Tea Pairing Event Returns This Autumn

img

Following its tremendous success on previous occasions, our much-loved Herb Tea Pairing Event returns this autumn.

At FAUCHON L’Hotel Kyoto, we are committed to a sustainable initiative in partnership with Iiri Farm in Shiga Prefecture, where used tea leaves generated daily by the hotel are incorporated into compost to cultivate sustainably grown herbs.

Guests will enjoy a thoughtfully curated dining experience featuring herbal infusions crafted from herbs grown by Iiri Farm, whose growers work closely with the hotel in pursuit of exceptional quality, alongside bespoke FAUCHON tea blends created by FAUCHON L’Hotel Kyoto’s Grand Tea Master, Yoshikawa. Each tea will be expertly paired with dishes prepared by our chefs, accompanied by detailed commentary to enhance your appreciation of the flavours and aromas.

This year’s event will be presented in two parts: a non-alcoholic pairing lunch centred on traditional Japanese herbs, and an evening pairing dinner that includes herb-infused cocktails and other alcoholic beverages.

Freshly harvested herbs grown within the dining room itself, using sustainable soil-free planters, will also feature throughout the experience. Savour dishes enriched with the vibrant fragrance and colour of herbs picked at their peak, bringing a truly fresh dimension to every course.
