Anniversary Menu “Hommage à Kyoto” with Gozan, 5 Pairings
At Grand Café FAUCHON, we will present the anniversary menu “Hommage à Kyoto”, celebrating Kyoto’s culinary treasures through refined French techniques.
The entrée showcases seared Spanish mackerel from Miyazu, Kyoto paired with vibrant early spring vegetables and yuzu jelly from Mizuo, Kyoto. The main course features succulent roast Kyoto-Nanatani duck, beloved by chefs for its exceptional flavour and tenderness. Guests preferring beef may upgrade to the exquisitely rare Kyoto-Kameoka wagyu grilled over charcoal. The dessert reimagines the classic French Opéra cake with Kyoto matcha, concluding the menu with a dramatic Japanese reinterpretation, “KABUKI”. Sommelier‑selected pairings inspired by Kyoto’s five sacred mountains accompany the menu.
